The value of the peer support group has been validated over and over again by couples who have participated.(See some of the comments couples have made on “What People Say.”) In fact, that was one of the major reasons the book, Unfaithful, was written in the first place.We are hoping that by revealing the need through the book, the support groups could multiply into other geographical areas. Once the book came out, readers came to us asking for a support group in their area.The fact was there weren’t any.So in response to requests for groups we have created a Resource Kit that can facilitate the duplication of the groups.The Resource Kit includes a leader’s manual with simple instructions for facilitating a group and videos of the teaching we include in our local groups.A Hope & Healing support group is a completely confidential and safe place where couples can find hope and help for the healing they desire.
3 ways this Resource Kit can be used for a group:
1) A pastor, counselor or spiritually mature couple could utilize the kit to come alongside a couple in adultery recovery.Again it is a 10 week commitment with minimal prep time.You’ll not only be helping the couple in recovery but also planting seeds for that couple to maybe play a role in someone else’s recovery in the future.
2) The Resource Kit can be used by a couple alone with the understanding that it was produced for and intended as a resource for support groups.We rest in the fact that our Lord is in constant attendance and He is indeed sufficient for all our needs.
3) A couple that has been through adultery recovery can come alongside another couple and use the kit for a 10 week meeting commitment.Prep time is minimal and the rewards are incalculable.Let your pastor or counselor know you’re willing and see what God does.
