Support") The value of peer support has been validated over and over again by couples who have worked with Hope & Healing facilitators. (See some of the comments couples have made on “What People Say.”) In fact, that was one of the major reasons the book, Unfaithful, was written in the first place. By revealing the need through the book and speaking opportunities, our goal is to multiply into other geographical areas.
Hope & Healing offers support in 4 primary ways: 1) Support groups - 10 week commitment In response to requests for groups outside central California, we have created a Resource Kit that provides everything needed to begin support for a couple right now. The Resource Kit includes a leader’s manual with simple instructions and videos of the teaching we include in our local groups. Look on the page “Hope & Healing Resources” to obtain a kit.
If you are a couple that has been through adultery recovery, this kit can guide you in coming alongside another couple. Prep time is minimal and the rewards are incalculable. Let your pastor or counselor know you’re willing and see what God does. And take a look at the “Become a Facilitator” for more information.
However, this kit can also be used by a pastor, counselor or spiritually mature couple to come alongside a couple in adultery recovery. This creates a completely confidential and safe place where couples can find hope and help for the healing they desire. You’ll not only be helping the couple in recovery but also planting seeds for that couple to maybe play a role in someone else’s recovery in the future.
The Resource Kit can also be used by a couple alone with the understanding that it was produced for and intended as a resource for support groups. We rest in the fact that our Lord is in constant attendance and He is indeed sufficient for all our needs.
2) Crisis Support & Intervention Meeting: The couple meets privately with a facilitating couple to provide immediate support after the revelation of infidelity. The intent is to offer hope, resources, and strategies for beginning a healing process. The meeting typically takes 1-2 hours. Contact us if you’re outside of central California and we can discuss alternatives to provide the information.
3) Resource Referral Hope & Healing has been ministering to couples for over 10 years. We have had exposure to many resources. We are able to refer couples and those coming alongside them to a variety of resources best suited to their situation. 4) Weekend Intensive Support Groups Our weekend intensive support groups provide valuable information about adultery recovery and practical tools to enhance your recovery process. Each couple also leaves with resources to aid their continuing recovery at home. In addition, couples will be able to participate in a support group setting which offers conditions and opportunities to glean information that simply can not be replicated in any other setting.
