Description :
In the pain and confusion of infidelity in marriage, there is something couples need to know. There is hope; marriages can heal. The authors of this book are living proof. In the deep despair of their own adultery recovery,  Gary and Mona wanted to know a real couple whose marriage had survived infidelity.  They wanted desperately for someone who had been in that situation to say to them, "You can get through this and learn to trust again!" But they could find no couple willing to be that vulnerable.  This is why the Shriver's have opened the pages of their lives and hearts to hurting couples everywhere.  In Unfaithful: Rebuilding Trust after Infidelity, Gary and Mona each share, from their own perspectives, the journey of their own recovery and what enabled them to heal.  With the Shriver's help, couples can learn to move beyond crisis to a place where they can renew their hope, rebuild their trust, and ultimately, restore their marriages!

Adultery is one of the last "secret sins" we, the church, don't discuss.  While statistics vary, most show that 25% to 50% of marriages experience adultery and that the Christian church's divorce rate is upwards of 50%.  Additionally, adultery is one of two commonly accepted reasons for divorce in the church.

Bottom Line:  Adultery is a problem within the church.

     T
herapists agree that adultery is one of the most difficult relationship problems to overcome,  Yet what does the church have to offer those who experience adultery and desire to reconcile?  Not much.
  These couples need our help!

This Resource Kit can be the answer to that need.  This peer support group has been operating in central California since 1998.  With this Resource Kit, you can also offer this 10 week program to couples struggling to survive after adultery.  This package contains video teaching and a leader's guide to enable facilitating a support group within your community.  Minimal leader prep is required.  It can begin with you!

RESOURCE KIT ENDORSEMENTS

"This pilot project holds huge hope for couples in adultery recovery.  It is a faith based curriculum that couples will find extremely supportive.  Hope & Healing support groups build on biblical principles and make the scriptures more available for application during this devastating crisis.  I recommend this resource for both those in adultery recovery and those working with couples in adultery recovery.

"Churches yearn for couples who are healthy and I see Hope & Healing Ministries and this Resource Kit as a way to take couples who have been involved in adultery and help them restore their relationship and then be able to come back and be a viable, vital member of the body of Christ."
